This artwork by Jan Evert Morel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2010. In the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction, the work Travellers on a country road, a town in the distance sold for EUR 6,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Evert Morel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grapes, pomegranates, peaches, cherries, and a melon, with carnations, and other flowers on a stone ledge in a landscape in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 31,070.00 (€ 25,511.13).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Evert Morel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grapes, pomegranates, peaches, cherries, and a melon, with carnations, and other flowers on a stone ledge in a landscape im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.070,00 (€ 25.511,13).
