Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Leaf Form I by James Tower. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,974.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Tower - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ribbed Chest Form, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,674.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Leaf Form I von James Tower zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.974,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von James Tower mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ribbed Chest Form beobachtet, die im September 2018 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.674,30) versteigert wurde.
