Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by James Swinnerton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in February this year. In the Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer auction, the work Two Smoke Trees sold for USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,607.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Swinnerton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kiva in the desert, which sold at auction in April last year for USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,310.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Swinnerton erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer wurde die Arbeit Two Smoke Trees für USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.607,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Swinnerton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kiva in the desert beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.310,24) versteigert wurde.
