Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work Grey Skies 11 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. framed 17 1/2 x 21 1/2 in. by James Swinnerton for USD 2,295.00 (€ 2,223.19). This price was achieved in the auction Western Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by James Swinnerton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kiva in the desert in April last year with an auction result of USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,310.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Grey Skies 11 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. framed 17 1/2 x 21 1/2 in. von James Swinnerton für USD 2.295,00 (€ 2.223,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Western Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Swinnerton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kiva in the desert im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.310,24).
