In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included this untitled work by James Nares. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,950.96), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Nares have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Take 118 - Blue Black in July 2014 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 65,347.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von James Nares zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.950,96) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Nares auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Take 118 - Blue Black im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 65.347,27).
