Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In Three Words by James Nares was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in February this year. The price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 19,015.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Nares - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Take 118 - Blue Black, which sold at auction in July 2014 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 65,347.27).

Die Arbeit In Three Words von James Nares wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 19.015,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von James Nares mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Take 118 - Blue Black beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 65.347,27) versteigert wurde.
