Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The Simpsons by James Hopkins. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,160.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Hopkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Thunder in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,721.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2008 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Simpsons von James Hopkins zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.160,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Hopkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue Thunder im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.721,77).
