Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2015 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Melting Mickey by James Hopkins. The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,687.69) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Hopkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Thunder in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,721.77).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2015 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Melting Mickey von James Hopkins zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.687,69) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Hopkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue Thunder im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.721,77).
