Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of a man by Jacob Axel Gillberg was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 7,000.00 (€ 799.02). Admittedly, works by Jacob Axel Gillberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young Hussar, facing right in fur-bordered blue coat with gold brocade, white ribbon tied on his left elbow, red waistcoat with gold loops, blue and gold sash, lace cravat and black stock, fair hair dressed in plaits, beard in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,105.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of a man von Jacob Axel Gillberg im Juni 2012 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 7.000,00 (€ 799,02) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Axel Gillberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A young Hussar, facing right in fur-bordered blue coat with gold brocade, white ribbon tied on his left elbow, red waistcoat with gold loops, blue and gold sash, lace cravat and black stock, fair hair dressed in plaits, beard im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.465,00 (€ 7.105,22).
