Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jackson Pollock could be acquired at Christies in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples auction, the work Untitled (P14) changed hands for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,423.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jackson Pollock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Number 17, 1951 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 61,161,000.00 (€ 54,187,117.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jackson Pollock konnte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (P14) für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.423,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jackson Pollock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Number 17, 1951 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.161.000,00 (€ 54.187.117,92).
