Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (P13) by Jackson Pollock for USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,565.22). This price was achieved in the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jackson Pollock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Number 17, 1951 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 61,161,000.00 (€ 54,187,117.92).
