Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work Composition with Oval Forms by Jackson Pollock. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 639,000.00 (€ 579,907.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jackson Pollock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Number 17, 1951 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 61,161,000.00 (€ 54,187,117.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition with Oval Forms von Jackson Pollock zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 639.000,00 (€ 579.907,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jackson Pollock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Number 17, 1951 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.161.000,00 (€ 54.187.117,92).
