Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Jack Smith was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June 2010. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,034.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior With Figures in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,621.91).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jack Smith kam im Juni 2010 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.034,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior With Figures im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 65.621,91).
