Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Monochromatic Movement (Whisper) by Jack Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 3,110.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior With Figures in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,621.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Monochromatic Movement (Whisper) von Jack Smith kam im März 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 3.110,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior With Figures im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 65.621,91).
