Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life by Jack Smith for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,467.47). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Post-War British Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior With Figures in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,621.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Still Life von Jack Smith für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.467,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior With Figures im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 65.621,91).
