This artwork by Jack Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2006. In the 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings auction, the work Reclining Head sold for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,864.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior With Figures in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,621.91).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Smith erzielte im Juli 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings wurde die Arbeit Reclining Head für GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.864,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior With Figures im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 65.621,91).
