Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jack Pierson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work Providence sold for USD 151,200.00 (€ 133,959.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Pierson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The One and Only, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 334,100.00 (€ 436,989.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Pierson erzielte im November 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Providence für USD 151.200,00 (€ 133.959,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Pierson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The One and Only beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 334.100,00 (€ 436.989,69) versteigert wurde.
