Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sandford Harbor, Nova Scotia by Jack Lorimer Gray was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 14,236.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Lorimer Gray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Running Before The Trades in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 145,875.00 (€ 170,262.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sandford Harbor, Nova Scotia von Jack Lorimer Gray im März 2008 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 22.500,00 (€ 14.236,00) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Lorimer Gray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Running Before The Trades im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.875,00 (€ 170.262,25).
