Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Jeevan Bandha by J. Sultan Ali was sold in the Boundless: India auction at Sothebys in Mumbai in November 2019. The »bidding war« ended at INR 475,000.00 (€ 5,991.92), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by J. Sultan Ali have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vanraj-Nandi in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 47,880.00 (€ 40,773.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Jeevan Bandha von J. Sultan Ali wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Boundless: India bei Sothebys in Mumbai versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von INR 475.000,00 (€ 5.991,92) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von J. Sultan Ali auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vanraj-Nandi im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 40.773,23).
