Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Christies in New York held the auction A Lasting Engagement: The Jane and Kito de Boer Collection, which included the work Untitled (Creator and the Creatures) by J. Sultan Ali. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,734.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by J. Sultan Ali - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vanraj-Nandi, which sold at auction in March 2021 for USD 47,880.00 (€ 40,773.23).
