Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Amriswil by Iwan E. Hugentobler was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 520.91). Admittedly, works by Iwan E. Hugentobler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Frauenfeld in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,578.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Amriswil von Iwan E. Hugentobler im Juni 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 360,00 (€ 520,91) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Iwan E. Hugentobler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Frauenfeld im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.578,50).
