The »bidding war« ended at GBP 62,500.00 (€ 72,828.75), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ivan Pokhitonov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sur la plage in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 409,250.00 (€ 477,757.47).

Die Arbeit Pêcheurs De Crevettes, Grande Plage, La Panne von Ivan Pokhitonov wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Russian Art bei Christies versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 72.828,75) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ivan Pokhitonov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sur la plage im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 409.250,00 (€ 477.757,47).
