The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,538.05), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Israhel van Meckenem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bust of an Oriental Man in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 70,935.92).

Die Arbeit The Juggler And The Woman (G. 405; L., Holl. 503) von Israhel van Meckenem wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.538,05) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Israhel van Meckenem erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bust of an Oriental Man im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 70.935,92).
