Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ecce Homo (Geisburg 78; Lehrs, Hollstein 148) by Israhel van Meckenem was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,105.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Israhel van Meckenem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bust of an Oriental Man in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 70,935.92).
