This work was selected for the current owner during a visit to Ishiuchi’s studio in 2009. At the time, it was confirmed that only one set of early prints from Apartment in this size exists. The Tokyo Photographic Art Museum holds another print and the exhibited print from the 2018 Yokohama Museum of Art retrospective remains with the artist.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Apartment #7 Deiki, Yokohama by Ishiuchi Miyako was auctioned at Phillips in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,648.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ishiuchi Miyako achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yokosuka Story in May 2018 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 120,990.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Apartment #7 Deiki, Yokohama von Ishiuchi Miyako kam im September 2020 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.648,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ishiuchi Miyako erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yokosuka Story im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 106.250,00 (€ 120.990,25).
