This work was selected for the current owner during a visit to Ishiuchi’s studio in 2009. At the time, it was confirmed that only one set of early prints from Apartment in this size exists. The Tokyo Photographic Art Museum holds another print of this image.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Apartment #45 Kamata, Tokyo by Ishiuchi Miyako was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in September 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,161.61). Admittedly, works by Ishiuchi Miyako have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yokosuka Story in May 2018 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 120,990.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Apartment #45 Kamata, Tokyo von Ishiuchi Miyako wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.161,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ishiuchi Miyako auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yokosuka Story im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 106.250,00 (€ 120.990,25).
