Woodcut with mica embellishments, 1934, a complete set of ten prints in original portfolio, each signed in Roman letters Ishikawa and sealed in Japanese Tora, watermark of the artist's name and seal of the block-carver, Yamagishi Kazue (1893-1966), in margins, seven prints with original, titled protective paper overlays--very good impressions and color, margins slightly mat-stained, especially at edges of some prints

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of USD 14,340.00 (€ 14,515.64), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Other works by Ishikawa Toraji have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 16,450.00 (€ 18,705.94) in March 2001 for the work Rajo jusshu (Ten female nudes).
