Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Miho yori mitaru haru no Fuji (Mount Fuji from Miho, spring), 1935 by Ishikawa Toraji. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,702.53) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ishikawa Toraji achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rajo jusshu (Ten female nudes) in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 16,450.00 (€ 18,705.94).
