Conceived in 1958 and executed in 1981. This work is number ten from an edition of eighteen plus six foundry copies, two trial proofs, two special proofs, three Gemini impressions, one National Gallery of Art impression and one prototype.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2021 Christies held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Pylon by Isamu Noguchi. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 75,000.00 (€ 64,923.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isamu Noguchi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garden Elements in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,727,500.00 (€ 4,207,458.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pylon von Isamu Noguchi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 75.000,00 (€ 64.923,82) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isamu Noguchi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Garden Elements im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.727.500,00 (€ 4.207.458,17).
