Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Village road by Isaak Levitan was sold in the Important Russian Art auction at Christies in London in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,478.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaak Levitan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Illumination of the Kremlin in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,588,500.00 (€ 2,224,310.97).
