Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Isaak Levitan could be acquired at Sothebys in London in June 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Summer changed hands for GBP 908,750.00 (€ 1,034,896.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaak Levitan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Illumination of the Kremlin, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 1,588,500.00 (€ 2,224,310.97).
