It achieved a price of GBP 908,750.00 (€ 1,034,896.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaak Levitan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Illumination of the Kremlin, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 1,588,500.00 (€ 2,224,310.97).

Die Arbeit Overgrown Pond von Isaak Levitan kam im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 908.750,00 (€ 1.034.896,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Für andere Arbeiten von Isaak Levitan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Illumination of the Kremlin beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 1.588.500,00 (€ 2.224.310,97) versteigert wurde.
