Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Before Paradise (Man With Ball) by Isaac Julien for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,424.09). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Julien - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Baltimore., which sold at auction in November last year for EUR 59,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Before Paradise (Man With Ball) von Isaac Julien für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.424,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Isaac Julien mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Baltimore. beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für EUR 59.400,00 versteigert wurde.
