The work Abstract by Irene Chou was worth HKD 437,500.00 (€ 48,645.57) to a buyer in November 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Irene Chou; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Universe Lies Within sold at auction in June 2015 with the realized price of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
