Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Forest by Irene Chou was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,542.28). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Irene Chou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Universe Lies Within in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Forest von Irene Chou im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 37.800,00 (€ 4.542,28) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Irene Chou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Universe Lies Within im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44).
