Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abstract by Irene Chou was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 140,000.00 (€ 16,621.00). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Irene Chou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Universe Lies Within, which sold at auction in June 2015 for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Abstract von Irene Chou im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 140.000,00 (€ 16.621,00) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Irene Chou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Universe Lies Within beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44) versteigert wurde.
