Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Impact 7106 by Irene Chou for HKD 27,720.00 (€ 3,322.55). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Cologne and was even below the estimate range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Irene Chou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Universe Lies Within in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Impact 7106 von Irene Chou für HKD 27.720,00 (€ 3.322,55) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Köln erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Irene Chou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Universe Lies Within im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44).
