Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Language of Ink by Irene Chou was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in May last year. It changed hands for a price of HKD 95,625.00 (€ 11,352.74) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Irene Chou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Universe Lies Within in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Language of Ink von Irene Chou wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 95.625,00 (€ 11.352,74) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Irene Chou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Universe Lies Within im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44).
