Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View Of The Coliseum From The Interior, Ground Level by Ippolito Caffi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. The price achieved of USD 118,750.00 (€ 106,511.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Caffi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 1,588,800.00.
