Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venezia, veduta notturna con la Piazzetta San Marco e il Molo, con vista sull'Isola di San Giorgio by Ippolito Caffi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,600.00 (€ 67,427.76) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Caffi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 1,588,800.00.

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 67.427,76) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ippolito Caffi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.588.800,00.
