Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ippolito Caffi could be acquired at Sothebys in London in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper Online auction, the work Study Of A Seated Man Holding A Stick changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 282.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Caffi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta Di Piazza Navona, Roma in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 1,588,800.00.
