Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work St. Petersburg State Ballet by Inge Morath. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,378.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Inge Morath - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mrs Eveleigh Nash with her chauffeur, at Buckingham Palace Mall, 1953, which sold at auction in May 2010 for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,125.92).
