Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Zhuang Zi Dreaming of A Butterfly by Ike Taiga for USD 28,800.00 (€ 23,725.18). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Ike Taiga have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2003 by the work Shun'un shusshu (Mountain peak in spring haze) at USD 50,190.00 (€ 46,045.87).

Im März 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Zhuang Zi Dreaming of A Butterfly von Ike Taiga für USD 28.800,00 (€ 23.725,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00.
