Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ike Taiga could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Flowers Bloom, circa 1760 changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,919.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ike Taiga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shun'un shusshu (Mountain peak in spring haze) in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 50,190.00 (€ 46,045.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ike Taiga konnte im April 2015 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese and Korean Art wechselte die Arbeit Flowers Bloom, circa 1760 für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.919,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ike Taiga erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shun'un shusshu (Mountain peak in spring haze) im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.190,00 (€ 46.045,87).
