Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ike Taiga could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Hotei and Chinese boys playing games changed hands for USD 11,950.00 (€ 7,242.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ike Taiga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shun'un shusshu (Mountain peak in spring haze) in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 50,190.00 (€ 46,045.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ike Taiga konnte im September 2003 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wechselte die Arbeit Hotei and Chinese boys playing games für USD 11.950,00 (€ 7.242,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ike Taiga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shun'un shusshu (Mountain peak in spring haze) im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.190,00 (€ 46.045,87).
