Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Angry Portrait by Hyon Gyon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,699.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hyon Gyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work I Was Broken in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 59,174.40).
