This artwork by Hurvin Anderson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March this year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Scenes from Rockers: Police and Thieves sold for GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,369.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hurvin Anderson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Audition in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 7,369,000.00 (€ 8,730,274.76).
