This artwork by Humphrey Spender achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2004. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Still-life with a lamp, mushroom and fruit sold for GBP 836.50 (€ 1,252.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. Admittedly, works by Humphrey Spender have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sails At Rab in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,967.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Humphrey Spender erzielte im März 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Still-life with a lamp, mushroom and fruit für GBP 836,50 (€ 1.252,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 400,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Humphrey Spender auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sails At Rab im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.967,18).
