Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spanish Street Scene by Humphrey Spender was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2020. The price achieved of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,563.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Humphrey Spender - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sails At Rab, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,967.18).
