Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art, which included the work Canal, Ulting, Essex by Humphrey Spender. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,561.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Humphrey Spender have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2008 the work Sails At Rab was auctioned for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,967.18).

Im Juni 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Canal, Ulting, Essex von Humphrey Spender zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.561,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Humphrey Spender konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im März 2008 die Arbeit Sails At Rab für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.967,18) versteigert.
